Linux is a viral operating system for mobile phones and other tablets. The majority of the world's smartphones are Linux Mobile phones. Another operating system, such as Apple iOS, also uses a modified version of Unix based on Darwin (BSD) and macOS.

Android (operating system)

Android is a free and open-source operating system for mobile phones based upon a modified Linux kernel version. It also includes many other open-source software. Android is managed by the Open Handset Alliance and sponsored by Google.

First Linux mobile phone

The HTC Dream was launched in September 2008, and it is the first commercial Linux mobile phone. There are now a large number of Android-based mobile phones from various manufactures. Some examples are:

  • Sony
  • LG
  • Redmi
  • Oneplus
  • realme
  • MI

iOS (operating system)

iOS is the world's second-most widely installed mobile operating system, after Android. It was created and maintained by Apple. Unlike Android, you cannot install iOS on any mobile phone. It only runs on Apple iPhone and other devices from Apple.
